Create New Work Order
Users can create new Work Orders that pertain to specific assets in ProFile. You can create a work order directly from an asset, or from the main work orders screen.
Work orders can contain the following information:
- Asset - The specific asset associated with the work order
- Work Order Category - A reusable item used for categorizing work orders.
- Location - The location at which the work order should be executed
- Due Date - The date by which the work order should be completed by.
- Requisitioner - The party whom requested the work order
- Request Date - The date in which the work order was requested
- Req Cycle Count - The cycle count at which the work order will be executed.
- Priority - The prioritization placement of the work order from low to high.
- Assigned To - The user assigned to the work order
- Work Requested - A description of the work that is required to complete the work order.
- Requires Manager Approval - If checked, work order will require manager approval to be completed.
- Requires QA Sign-off - If checked, work order will require QA to sign-off in order to be completed.
- Associated Files - Files such as documents and images that pertain to the work order may be attached.
- Work Order No. - The GUID associated with the work order.
- Asset ID - The GUID for the asset associated with the work order.
- Cyc Since Request - The number of cycles since the work order was submitted.
To access the Add New Work Order form from the Work Orders screen:
1. Select the "Work Orders" button on the left hand navigation bar.
2. Select the "Add Work Order" button.
To access the Add New Work Order form from the Assets Screen:
1. Select the "Assets" button from the left hand navigation menu.
2. Select the "Asset Id" you want to create a new work order for.
3. Click the "Create Work Order" button.
To add a new work order:
1. Fill out the form fields. The required fields of "Asset", "Work Order Category", "Priority" and "Assigned To" must be completed to add the work order.
Note: If "Work Order Categories" are not available it may be because there are no work order categories created for the currently selected plant. You either need to select a plant that has associated work order categories or create new work order categories for the currently selected plant. Work Order Categories are created in the administration section of ProFile. Please see the related article "Create Work Order Categories" for more information.
Optionally, "Location", "Due Date", "Req Cycle Count", and "Work Required" fields can be completed.
Checkboxes "Requires Manager Approval" and "Requires QA Sign-off" can be optionally checked.
"Requisitioner" and "Request Date" fields should be automatically populated and are not editable.
Files can also be uploaded with the file uploader tool.
2. Click the "Add button" to add the work order.
Create Work Order Permissions
This chart illustrates the default role/permission configuration for the ProFile application. A green check means that the role is allowed to perform the action. A red circle means that the role cannot perform the action. Note that your experience may vary, as these roles are customizable. Please contact support if you have any specific questions.
