Searching For Assets, Saving Views, and Asset Grid Customization

Assets are displayed in a results grid in which users can search for assets and filter the results contained in the grid.

Searching for Assets

To search for a specific asset or a group of assets that contain certain alphanumeric or special characters in their asset ID:

  1. Type one or more alphanumeric characters or special characters into the "Search" field at the top of the "Assets" screen.
  2. For all Asset Classes you can search by Asset ID, Location, or Tag ID.
  3. For Molds, additionally you can search by Part Number or Part ID
  4. In order to search by Part Number or Part ID, you must first filter by Asset Class for Molds.

Filtering by Asset Class

To filter by asset class:

1. Click on the "Asset Class" dropdown and select the class you wish to filter by. The results grid will be updated to show only assets of that asset class.

Filtering by Favorites

To filter by favorites:

1. Click on the "Only Favorite" toggle switch to show only assets that are marked as favorite.

Tip: Clicking on an Asset and then clicking on the Star icon will mark that asset as a favorite. Clicking on the icon again will remove it from your favorites

Filtering by Assets With Monitors Attached

To filter by Assets With Monitors Attached:

1. Click the "With Monitor" toggle switch to show only assets that are connected to a monitor.

Filtering by Assets that are Ready for Use

To filter by assets that are ready for use:

  1. Click the "Only Ready for Use" toggle switch to show only assets that are ready for use.
  2. This feature is only available for users that possess the View Unconfigured Assets permission: System Administrators, Enterprise managers and Plant managers

Note: All filters and search fields are cumulative.


Managing Views

Searches and filters and any combinations thereof can be saved as a View.

List Asset Permission

This chart illustrates the default role/permission configuration for the ProFile application. A green check means that the role is allowed to perform the action. A red circle means that the role cannot perform the action. Note that your experience may vary, as these roles are customizable. Please contact support if you have any specific questions.
