Editing an Asset's Configuration

Overview

Managing assets is a critical aspect of the ProFile application. With ProFile, you can quickly understand the state of their production operations in the context of the machines, equipment, dies, molds, and inserts that they use to produce goods every day. Each of these specific items is an “Asset” in the context of the ProFile System.

Each asset has a set of tabs for gaining and editing useful information related to the asset. These tabs include:

  • Overview
  • Properties
  • Targets & Limits
  • Configuration
  • PM Checklists

Properties

Each asset has properties that are controlled by the asset definition associated with it's asset class. Each particular asset's fields can be viewed on the properties tab. Check the Asset Definitions Overview article for an explanation all the property fields.

Targets and Limits

The "Targets & Limits" tab is only associated with real time assets and is absent for machines not connected to monitors.

Real-Time Asset States

Real time assets (assets connected to monitors) can be in different states:

  • Connected - Asset becomes "Connected" upon processing a cycle
  • Idle - A "Connected" asset becomes "Idle" upon meeting the "Idle Threshold" in milliseconds (time since last processed cycle)
  • Disconnected - An "Idle" asset becomes "Disconnected" upon meeting the "Sleep Threshold" in milliseconds (time since starting idle state)

Configuration

The configuration tab is available for all asset types, but the available fields will change depending on the asset class. The editable fields include:
