Create Work Order Categories

Create Work Order Categories

Users can create Work Order Categories as reusable items in the ProFile system. Work Order Categories are assigned to Work Orders when creating or editing Work Orders.

Note: Work Orders are created per plant, meaning that Work Order Categories are not shared across plants.

To Create a New Work Order Category:

  1. Select the plant in which you wish to create Work Order Categories.

  2. Click on the "Administration" button in the left hand navigation bar.

  3. Under "Manage Plant" click on the "Master Data" button.

  4. Click on the "Work Order Categories" tab. If you do not see the "Work Order Categories" tab click on the "..." (three dot) menu to expose the hidden tab options.

  5. Click the "+ Add Category" button.

  6. Give your new category a name. Click the "Toggle" button to change between "Active" and "Inactive". Then click the "Checkmark" button to finish. You can also select the "X" button if you wish to cancel for any reason.

  7. Click the "Save" button.

Notes: Active work order categories will have the ability to be selected in any list where work order categories can be selected and Inactive work order categories will not be selectable.

To edit a work order click the "Pencil" button. To delete a work order click on the "Trash" button.
